New Build Schools

Education New School Builds

K2AV’s team was specifically requested to assist with the design of new build classrooms by Department of Education consultants. Designing new ways for technology to merge with, and be part of the classrooms of WA’s new builds.

Each year there are new primary and secondary schools that are built to cater for WA’s growing population. And K2AV is proud to have been an integral part of their look and functionality.

Education AV New School Build Solutions

Our team has been awarded the AV contract for all secondary school builds since 2015. While also deploying the technology in most primary school new builds as well.

From the moment a Principal is appointed, K2AV’s team undertakes the consultancy at no charge (typically 5% of project value), and designs appropriate solutions for each of the spaces. Thereafter, these go back and forth until deployment.

Having executed some of the most complex new build fit-outs in 3 week timeframes, there isn’t an education new build requirement that K2AV isn’t best positioned to solve.

Projectors

Interactive Projectors are the most commonly used interactive technology in Australian classrooms. 8 out of 10 classrooms rely on the Epson range of projectors to get more done each lesson.

Projecting a 94” image, suitable for standard classrooms, the interactive projectors turn a standard whiteboard into an iPad. Finger touch and the use of styluses (provided) allows teachers and students to interact with content presented from any device – even wirelessly.

The interactive projector is 3,300 lumens in brightness using the 3LCD engine and wall-mounted above a standard whiteboard – this means no bright lights in the eye of the presenter, no shadows on the image, and allowing your lesson to be viewed from anywhere in the classroom, even with the classroom lights on.

Like a big smartphone on the wall. Run an entire lesson by the touch of your finger, and up to 20 point touch simultaneously. With 4K ultra high-definition resolution, an interactive screen can transform teaching and learning by facilitating collaboration in ways that aren’t possible otherwise.

Having a sleek, quality built interactive screen installed in a classroom space adds value to your school and provides a minimalist look. With a built-in operation system like Android, there is no need to plug in a computer, or even a cable. Share, touch, save, and connect with others around the world.

With options of wall mount and portable solutions, interactive screens are a flexible interactive solution designed to suit any teaching environment.

Collaborative learning is enhanced with the introduction of technology in the classroom, particularly with the growth of STEAM-based education.

A range of custom-designed collaborative learning areas have been created to allow the one space to have multiple uses. Meaning a classroom can be split into different types of learners. Focus on smaller groups at one time and have them problem solve and work together on every day activities. Allowing educators to provide a more focused and tailored experience for students to learn at their own pace.

Combining this solution with an observation room allows schools to get a real time look into what’s taking place, provide feedback, and gain insightful knowledge on how their students are learning and their educators are teaching.

Ranging from the simple school-wide public address system to a complex multi-zone broadcast, emergency, and background audio system to a full nightclub audio fit-out – an audio system needs to be custom designed by an expert to fit your requirements. It is very easy to overlook a pivotal component and result in many headaches and additional costs.

With specialist audio engineers in-house, and having designed and installed some of the most advanced audio solutions in the state from nightclubs, to Perth Zoo, to a multi-storey corporate showroom fit-out of a fully flexible audio system – K2AV will determine your exact requirements from the number of zones, to the types of inputs, to how you will control the system, and then integrate an audio solution that will last 20+ years.

With large venue projection becoming extremely cost-effective over the past few years – these larger presentations spaces such as undercover assembly areas, performing arts centres, auditoriums, and lecture theatres has become one of the most activated areas in terms of audio visual solutions.

Typically a large motorised projection screen (up to 20m in width), a bright cinematic large venue projector (up to 20,000 lumens of brightness), and a touch-screen controller (typically 7” LCD) that at the touch of an icon will control all items in the space so even the most technologically resistant person can walk in and operate the system.

Investing in these larger venues has been on the rise and a custom solution will be designed for your space at a price-tag that is a lot more affordable today than you may anticipate.

FAQ

Do you charge a consultancy fee to assist with AV designs for my new school?

No. We never charge for consultancy, as our aim is for you to award the project on our ability to come up with the best solution, not charge for the work up-front. As a local business, it is about long term relationships for us.

Let us handle it for you. We have worked on new builds for 10+ years, and know the processes/requirements like the back of our hands. If at any stage you feel we are not adding value, you can say goodbye.

We can speak to your teachers. In fact we probably know most of your key staff, having worked in this space for many years, we can ask them what they prefer and then design the solution from there.

Yes. As you cannot use our actual solution to go out to tender, we can help turn the actual solution into a functionality specification – that you can then put out to market. This will help you meet department requirements, and also ensure you’re getting value for money.
